gingerbread house style, lower rockridge, oakland, before and after

spiritually inspired and updated front garden involving repurposed materials, water-wise plantings, and a spot to share with neighbors

this architecturally unique and charming 1927 house was in need of one-of-a-kind 'front porch garden' utilizing a tiny area; old flagstone pieces, grape stakes, and several heirloom elements were sourced with some help from the homeowner, and subsequently repurposed to create a spiritually and neighborly inspired space; established tall cedar tree and camellia shrubs were joined by various low water plantings capable of braving the challenging soil conditions
